Cancellation policy

At Goulburn Valley Dental Group your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you, and we will dedicate our time and resources to ensure you are given the best care possible. Unfortunately, missed, or broken appointments represent a cost to us, and to other patients who could have been seen in the appointment time set aside for you.

We require our patients to arrive promptly for their appointment in order to provide a fair and timely service to all of our patients. Cancellations without adequate notice (less than 24 hours), arriving late (more than 15 minutes) and/or failure to attend your appointment disrupts our practice and the service we provide our patients.

If you cannot attend your scheduled appointment, we request that you advise us as soon as possible so that we can offer your appointment time to another patient. We will send you an SMS requesting that you confirm your appointment 3 days before your scheduled appointment – please respond to this SMS promptly. If we have not had confirmation by the day prior to your appointment, we will endeavour to contact you and verbally confirm your appointment. If we are unable to do so we will proceed to cancel your appointment, allowing us time to offer the availability to another patient. Our availability at times can be very limited, following a strict policy like this allows us to utilise our time to its best potential. 

Patients who demonstrate a pattern of missed or broken appointments may be required to pay a failure to attend fee of $50 and/or pay their planned treatment in full prior to booking their appointment. 

We do understand that significant emergencies may arise unexpectedly so this fee will be applied at the discretion of management.
